AVP-R

I watched Alien Versus Predator: Requiem yesterday with my Dad and Brother. Overall it was good. I will probably buy on DVD. Before I get into what I did and didn't like about this movie, I will tell you what I didn't like about the first AVP.

The first AVP had a decent story with crap action. It's PG-13 rating only allowed for mild violence, so we didn't get to see any skinned bodies hanging upside sown (a trademark of the Predator franchise) and the action was very, I don't know, made for TV. We also had a love story or whatever with the female lead and the predator. Yeah it was gay, they were buddies :o) So I was disappointed in the first AVP.

The second AVP was great when it came to the action (rated R by the way). At the start of the film we pick up where the other movie left off. An alien egg hatches from the deceased predator body aboard a predator ship, this "predalien" hybrid downs the ship and kills it's crew. The ship crashes outside a small town in Colorado. The predalien survives and so do a few facehuggers, the aliens begin to wreak havoc on the townsfolk. Meanwhile on the Predator home world, a predator nicknamed by the world wide web as "wolf" (a reference to Harvey Kietels character in Pulp Fiction) is dispatched to "clean up" the mess. Boy what a mess. Like I said the story was "eh", we were introduced to characters, but we didn't care about them. The dialogue was very generic. Overall I would give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. The action was awesome!

Christmas weekend

Wow what a crazy past 4 days... well not that crazy just full. I would first and foremost like to that God for sending his son to earth 2000-some odd years ago.

I want to thank Jesus Christ for his selfless act, and for the gift salvation.

I would also like to thank Randy and Carol for the Maxtor "one touch" 120gb external hard drive, and my parents for the sweet super sharp knives and kick butt Husky multi tools, and I would like to thank my wife for my killer sexy Armitron watch! So yeah, oh I also received Pinnacle Studio 11 Ultimate that comes bundled with Bias Sound Soap woo hoo, I cant wait to start making movies again. It also came with a 3' x 5' (maybe bigger) green screen. Heck yes!!! so yeah there you have it!

My brother and I are going to see Alien Versus Predator Requiem later today (4:00) when he gets off of work. I hope this movie is better than the first AVP cause it kinda sucked. I will give a review later tonight.
I hope you all had a very blessed very merry Christmas!

Not Yet

Ok I know I said I was going to give my take on the Apocalypse but I think I need to do a little more study on the subject. So uh look for that one in the future ok. OK, I guess I'll write about what I want to do... I have so many things I want to do:

  • I want to Paint a picture or something for our house
  • I want to sketch more
  • Try to write a screenplay... then film it, even if it is low budget and crappy it will be mine!
  • I've started a book, sort of, I have the foundations laid out. I just need to start piecing it together.
  • I want to make more videos. I really want to make a RotoScoped video, I bought a tablet to use with Photoshop and I have barely used it. This is the tool I would use to RotoScope. So I need to get crackin'

That's just a taste of what I want to do. Then there are the thing's I need to do. I think above all I need to glorify God with my work, even if it doesn't have a gospel message, it needs to reflect hard work and dedication in the name of God. I hope that makes sense. I really need to get into the Bible a little more. Then I can do a little bloggin' about the apocalypse...

Snow Day!!!

Yesterday we had a snow day. That’s right, Sarah and I took the day off yesterday to go play in the snow with Brent and Stephanie. It was awesome and butt cold out! It wasn’t that bad once we started moving around and climbing hills and what-not. It was a blast I’ll have to put some pictures up when I get ‘em from Brent.

A funny thing happened when we were out there. There was a family out there at the hill we we’re playing at, and there was a kid there that was acting like an absolute BRAT! I think what happened was he hurt/upset one of the other kids and the “parents” said ok were leaving. But this little rotund fella said “NO” and kept grabbing his sled from his mother, and running back up the hill. He then proceeded to tell his parents he hated them, and that they were all stupid, then he kicked snow at, and hit, his dad as they tried to collect him to leave… These “parents” never raised their voices or their hand at this little devil child! Ahhhh so I’m not gonna tell someone else how to raise their kids BUT I know when I have mine, and IF they act like that (they won’t) you better believe there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth…. Ha ha but that didn’t ruin our trip, we had fun bustin’ our butts on jumps and just flyin’ around the icy snow. Ahhh yes good times!

I’ll write a little more later tonight. On another subject… maybe, lets see… how about what I think about the apocalypse and revelation, ohh yeah that sounds good.

Not off to a good start

Ok so I wanted to this this on a regular basis. I'm going to try even if it's just a little bit everyday.
So I was thinking about Superheroes on my way to work. I was thinking, in particular, about the big three. Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. I was thinking that with their abilities (even Batman) they could have easily been bad guys. I think the true heroes in these stories are the parents, or parent figures (grandparents, butler). If these guys, Superman especially, were raised by abusive, or ill-tempered parent figures the outcome would have been very bad. Imagine an alcoholic Superman with a god-complex. So I applaud the parents of Superman, Mr. and Mrs. Kent you did a good job there. I know I could have gone a little deeper into that or I could have saved this for Mothers day, but it was on my mind.
We watched Mr. Brooks last night. Very Good movie, very disturbing movie. I would recommend it, although there is nudity and the EFF word... but it had a great story. Isn't it funny how we justify profanity, murder, lust, and all other representations of sin by saying "...but it had a good story". I think... I don't know what to think about that. I do know that Sarah and I are of the maturity level that we can watch a movie that has violence and murder and not go out and kill cats because "the guy in the movie said killing was fun", or go out and look in the girls shower at a gym, because "she looked like that hot actress in that movie and and I wanted to see if her boobs look the same". You know crap like that! I know that there's a lot worse stories in the bible involving lust, murder, and nudity...

I don't know where I was going with that, I guess what I'm saying is, if you cant handle a nude scene in a movie and you start freaking out and turning into Steve Urkel when he's around Laura, maybe you shouldn't watch movies with nudity, or brief nudity (butt cracks and side boob). Ha that would be a great name for a blog "Butt Cracks and Side Boob"

Crazy Sunday!

I don't really know what to write here... I'm kinda new. So I guess I'll talk about my day.

Today Sarah and I woke up and we went to church (Palm croft Baptist Church). The service was really good, we had a couple Christmas songs that were jazzed up a little bit with some electric guitar and sweet drum beats. I have to say that my favorite Christmas song is "Holy Night", there is a line in the song that gives me chills every time I hear it: "Fall on Your knees"... I guess I get chills because it's what EVERYONE should do in the presence of Jesus. I love that song as long as it's not too over the top you know.
So service was great and Pastor (Jim Bull) deviated from our journey through Mark to talk a little bit about the Virgin birth and what it means. I wish I could paste his message word for word, it was great. Pastor Jim is definitely in tune with the Lord and speaks his word!

Olive Garden Used to be nice:

After church we went to Olive Garden. Yeah the mullets and spandex were out in full force today! I mean seriously, I thought the OG was suppose to be a semi-nice restaurant. NOPE there were all kinds of hillbilly freaks out today. I won't dive too deep into it but uh yeah maybe a shower... a shirt with sleeves... pants that fit, even baggy pants, just please no tight muffin-top pants PLEASE!
So I guess that's the end of today, oh I also got onto iTunes (for the first time) and downloaded a few songs for Sarah. The playlist is called "Sarah's Sexy Groove" so you can imagine the songs she requested.

First Posting

Ok so this is my first post, and I plan on making many many more. I hope that one day I can make this a regular thing and let people now what's going on with me and my family. Yeah that's a little creepy. But whatever it's better than MySpace!
